A.G.Teachers College was established in 1952 for conducting B.Ed course, that nurtures quality teachers. The Institution started with the generous donations from the donor Achartlal Girdharlal and is managed by Ahmedabad Education Society. College has an upgraded status of CTE (College of Teacher Education) to cater the needs of in-service teachers training for three districts of Gujarat. A.G.Teachers College has accreditation status of B ++ (CGPA 2.87) valid till 28.03.2029. by NAAC.

College aims at being a leading centre of excellence in pre-service, in-service and distance teachers training. A.G.Teachers College maintains a leadership role in generation, application and dissemination of knowledge at pre-service and in-service teachers training.
